How To & How Long to Learn Photoshop (ive never used it B4)?

I'm interested in learning photoshop from the ground up. I would like to become good at editing photos and doing some minor graphic design stuff with it. What is the best way to learn, what programs or tutorials or sites or dvds or software should I check out for the basic beginner to learn and get good at it....????How To %26amp; How Long to Learn Photoshop (ive never used it B4)?

Self taught or going to school?





I know people who go to school for it. A year or more and they are very good. I have seen people self taught who have been at it for much longer who are terrible but some who have been at it for just a few months who are very good. Everyone learns at their own pace.
If you search youtube for tutorials you will find tons. To learn it from the ground up would take a while. I've heard of college students majoring in just photoshop, but I don't know if thats just a myth.





The best thing I'd suggest is to figure out what you want to do and try to find a tutorial for it. If you just blindly started watching tutorials you'd get overload.
