i doubt you can do it with that software, in fact i doubt you could do i with the full blown version of photoshop because they're primarily for working with static images not videos/ainmations.





you can do it with adobe after effects, but it's a very long drawn-out process as you normally need to track the object on every frame.

Corel Paintshop Pro is very similar. I'm a designer who works on Photoshop for all of my work, but I was asked to do a short class on Paintshop Pro for a local library. Since I already knew Photoshop in and out, learning Paintshop was very easy. It seemed to have all of the same tools, effects, and capabilities, they were just named differently.

Having problems with Imported Images from Photoshop in Final Cut Studio, they keep popping in and out of blur?

I am having problems with layers in General in FinalCut. Motion imports, Photoshop imports, and even the FCP lower thirds they some times will blur and un-blur randomly. I have gone through so many process' to eliminate this problem but nothing. I cant help but think that this shouldn't be a problem. It's possible you don't have enough RAM to handle both Final Cut and Photoshop together. Try saving the output from Final Cut out to hard drive, shutting it down, and then opening Photoshop with a clean RAM drive.





Also, check the resolution which Final Cut is outputting. It's possible that output in there is defaulting to 72ppi, regardless of what you've set it at.





Instead of simply opening the graphic in Photoshop, try using the File%26gt;Place command. This would allow you to force import at a higher resolution.

PHOTOSHOP: How to cut out much of the background so I can resize my image?

I made up a business card in Photoshop CS2 in a basic blank picture format, NOT in the bus card format. When zoomed out, it appears as a small rectangle within a larger area of grey-and-white squares, which I assume are basically unused background area. I now need to officially resize my bus card to be 1.93 inches high by 3.43 wide- when I punch in those numbers, the WHOLE THING resizes to that... I'm left with a teeny squished blob (that's my card design) in the corner of a business-card-sized grey-and-white checkered rectangle. How do I essentially extract my design area to put it into a business card size with no background so my printing company can accept it? Have you tried just shrinking the canvas (Canvas Size.... menu item) to the image rather than changing the image size?





Or, if you can select just the business card and copy it to the clipboard (CTL-C), then open a new image (File-%26gt;New...) Photoshop often sets the canvas size of the new image to exactly match what you have in the clipboard - just accept the settings that photoshop gives you for the new image and paste your card in there. Have You tried to go to edit them image size and resize it that way? if you do resize it are you zooming in? because sometimes when you resize it is just zoomed far away

Firstly you have the drop-down menu that has some techniques - This is found on the right hand side (if you have the layers pallet open] under the word Layers it says Normal - drop it down, and there is over-lay, soft light, etc etc.





If none of that works go to the bottom (under the layers pallet) and you will see some icons - 7 exact. The one in a circle with ';f'; inside click that and go to ';Blending Options'; - Then there will be a full blending window that comes up-





Obviously you can just change the opacity - (Beside the normal drop-down menu) this will fade the color down)

a thin black outline or a drop shadow can help wonders with text.. if you right click on your text layer and bing up the ';blending'; options you'll get both as well as a full range of effects you can apply.. try messing with the colour too.. if you have it as a bright primary colour try toning it down to a less harsh colour that compliments the over all colour of the picture..
Alternativly to the Optacity settings, you can rasterize the text, and select it with a selection tool, and feather it by x5 pixels, play around with this type different values.

im an art institute student and we mostly use photoshop, illustrator. and toon boom for the animation part. i didnt know it was that much, i have the cs3 crack. adobe offers discounts for students as well.
If your looking to get into a career doing this, I would for SURE get photoshop. If not, try another program. The reason I say this is because photoshop is a basic software that you will have to know if you get into that type of field. I honestly did not think photoshop was hard to learn, but then again I've been using it for...well forever. It's a very nice program.

under image/adjustments there are lots of options you can use. Auto color works well, though you can use color balance or color levels to adjust it to your liking.

Ok the trial version doesnt cost anything but to buy it out right it is a tad expensive, with licencs costing an arm and a leg, you may be able to get education copies for far less!

You can try it for 30 days free if you download it from the adobe website. There are cracks out there to run it without a license, but you shouldn't do that. It's just stealing you know. Photoshop CS: Sometimes when I make text, the font comes out larger that it should be. How do I fix this?

For example: I use a pixel font, and normally I set it to 8pt. Sometimes, the font comes up way to big and I end up using a much smaller number. The font also turns out quite dodgy and unclear at times, especially with the fonts ';Beyond Wonderland'; and ';Big Dots';.

Different fonts are set to a different sizing. The King %26amp;%26amp; the Queen at size 75 in photoshop is MUCH larger than other fonts. You basically have to figure the sizing out yourself.





Make sure Anti-aliasing is turned on and fool around with the settings, Sharp will solve your problem. You can see ';aa'; near the top of the screen with the text tool selected or in the right click menu with the text tool selected.

Try deleting the background, by dragging the background layer to the trash can (done in the Layers panel of the Layers, Channels, Paths box in the bottom right hand corner).





If this doesn't work it's probably because the image you're dragging into photoshop has a white background itself. If this is what you want to delete use the ';magic wand'; tool to select the white background and hit CTRL-X to cut it from the picture... Bingo, background gone!

I think you are using the term ';focus'; wrong. The image is either in FOCUS or not and photoshop isn't going to help.





I think you are wanting to create a border in the shape of a heart so that the image of your sister in the photograph show up inside the heart shaped border. If that is the case, it is pretty easy. make a layer with the border and the heart and use the eraser tool so that the image shows through the heart layer.

Self taught or going to school?





I know people who go to school for it. A year or more and they are very good. I have seen people self taught who have been at it for much longer who are terrible but some who have been at it for just a few months who are very good. Everyone learns at their own pace.
If you search youtube for tutorials you will find tons. To learn it from the ground up would take a while. I've heard of college students majoring in just photoshop, but I don't know if thats just a myth.





The best thing I'd suggest is to figure out what you want to do and try to find a tutorial for it. If you just blindly started watching tutorials you'd get overload.

Just to add to this. An Alpha channel is the digital equivalent of old style photographic techniques. It's kind of like an 'invisible' colour channel (CMYK etc are also channels in Photoshop).





The Channel palette can be access from the windows menu item. It usually sits behind the Layers palette. Report Abuse

Uber simple way is to select the hair with the Pen Tool.





Create New Layer!





With the selection, fill with the desired colour.





It will be a block colour, dont you worry!





Go to the layer properties, above layers.





Scroll through all the overlays and colour burns etc etc, and see which looks best, and works best.

Do NOT save it as GIF unless the image has less than 256 colours. Save it as a True-colour PNG with Transparency. That way you'll get just the image and it will overlay onto any colour background (which a GIF will not do if it has an anti-aliased outline).





Just be aware that your PNG will be a heavier file that if you saved as GIF (it contains MANY more colours) but the overall effect is far more pleasing to the eye.





You could also save to TIFF with an alpha channel, but not many applications will let you view it.PNG is much more widely accepted especially, of course, on websites.
Save it as a gif or png, both support transparencies.
transparent format is either .gif or .tmg make sure u delete the white background.

if you go to brush options, there's an option to choose the brush pressure. I don't know about another way.

make sure your front and back colors are set to default, black on white hit D to confirm that, make a new layer above your image, goto Filter%26gt;Render%26gt;Clouds, then change layer opacity from top of the layer palette, you can blur the layer too from Filter%26gt;Blur%26gt;Guassian Blur.
If you take a paintbrush that has a blurry edge, and turn the opacity down, it should look like fog.

Space to store it all is nice, but between USB2.0, and the cost per gigabyte coming down so fast, you may want to get separate USB 500GB or 1TB drives as you need them and save up front money.

Open a new document, set your image size/canvas size to be pretty large (you can always increase the canvas size as needed). Hopefully your images are all at the same resolution, or when you add them to the document, they may change size, either larger or smaller depending on the relative resolutions (if you are bringing in low res images into a higher res document, they will shrink, and the reverse is also true).





Open each of your pictures that you'd like to bring into the main document. With each one, hit ctrl (command on a Mac) +A to Select All. You should see the ';marching ants'; around the border of the image. Now go to your tools palette, and up at the top is the Move tool, which looks sort of like a cross with an arrowhead next to it. Click on it, and then click and drag the photo onto the main document. This will place a copy of the photo in the main document, on its own layer. Repeat this with each photo you want to bring together in the main document. Once you have all the images in, go to File%26gt;Save and save it as a Photoshop (.psd) file. This keeps all the layers in the image.





To manipulate each photo, move it to a different position or whatever, click on its layer in layer palette and with the Selection tool, you can move it around within its layer. You will have to go to the layers palette each time to select a different layer, but because each image is on its own layer, you can easily position it.





If you need to make the canvas bigger, go to the Image menu and select Canvas%26gt;Canvas size. This will give you a dialog box that will allow you to enlarge the canvas.





When you have everything together the way you want, you can go to Layer%26gt;Merge layer or Merge down. Then go to File%26gt;Save As and save the image, probably as a jpeg if you are intending to post it to website or share it. Rename it appropriately (whatever works for you, there are no rules here), and hit Save. Now you will have a flattened file with all the photos put together as one image, but you will still have your original unflattened image so if you want to go back and make changes to each layer you can.

What is better for graphics - Photoshop or Photodraw?

I've really became interested in graphics lately. Especially www.the-dark-arts.net but the only graphics software I have is Paint. Which software would be better for me to get? Photoshop or Photodraw? Or is there a better one?What is better for graphics - Photoshop or Photodraw?

okay so you need to use the magic wonde tool


erace the backround on the layer your going to move on...then chance the eraser tool to erase backgrounds, it will look like a chess born chlick and drag to the picture you want to put it on...there you go

Is there anyway to cut out a picture with a blurry background without having to use the pen tool on photoshop?

masking works great, what it does is put a mask over the layer you want to change, and then you paint with black on the areas you want to become transparent or cut out, and if you make a mistake or decide you want something in there after all, you just paint it back in with white and it shows up again. once you like what you have you can flatten the image and have it perfectly cut out.Is there anyway to cut out a picture with a blurry background without having to use the pen tool on photoshop?
You can use the extract filter to do it.

The photo is of the woman sitting at the table. The designer probably used a graphics program to draw, fill and outline the sillouette of her lost-to-gambling boyfriend/husband. Don't worry you have all the tools (well, most of them) in PSP.





Use the Pen Tool to draw and node-edit the sillouette. The settings on the Pen Tool Options Bar: Click on ';Draw Freehand'; icon, Tracking 24, Line Style=Dashed Line, Width 3.75, check Anti-Alias, the rest unchanged. The Materials Palette (colors): Foreground=white Background=Dark Gray.





Use the Paint Bucket Tool to fill it with dark gray.


Use the magic wand to select the dark gray sillouette. Effects%26gt;Edge Effects%26gt;Trace Contour





Right click on the top layer in the Layer Palette, Merge%26gt;Down





In the Layer Palette: Blend Mode=Hard Light, Opacity=50-60% Try other Blend Modes like Multiply.





It's easier to control the size/width of the dashed line in a graphics program. If you're adventurous, you might learn Inkscape.

The best recommendation is to talk to the school because you can get the academic version at a very large discount. You cannot legally download more than the 30-day trial from Adobe.com, and your mom is completely wrong about an installer CD, it would not work on your computer if they've already installed the program (and if it did work, it would be a form of software piracy.)
You can download a free trial from adobe.com, but there are no free versions of the Photoshop other than the trial.





Since this is for school, check with the teacher or IT staff. Many schools are allowed to sell Adobe products to students at a discount.
I think there is a free limited trial version(30 days or something) on the adobe website...but there's no legal way of downloading full version for free...

Well for a dslr you'd primarily use photoshop. That's intended to be a photo editing program, whilst illustrator is for drawing from scratch.





Illustrator is vector based, so creates images which can be easily re-sized within the program without losing any detail. It will also keep different elements of a drawing separate, so they're easy to move around and alter the shape. Photoshop on the other hand is pixel based, which suits photographs because they are also pixel based.





However, the two programs crossover in many ways -you can draw freehand in photoshop too, you just have to be more aware of the sizes and resolution of the images. You can also add 'effects' to drawings and import photos into illustrator -you just can't edit them quite so well as with photoshop.What's the difference between photoshop cs3 and Adobe Illustrator?

It depends specifically on the method on how you had your image saved in the first place.


For example, if you had it scanned, the image is usually saved in a .tif file which you'll later need to reopen to save in a .jpeg file (which is preferable)


Once you have it saved in a .jpeg file, you'll need to open it in your photoshop software to be edited, cropped, fit in graphics/ text, etc before proceeding to saving it with a high resolution to ensure better quality of image.

When you go to save as, there should be a little tab at the buttom. That says save as photoshop document or whatever. Click on that tab then it has virtually ever kind of image format there is. NO DOWNLOADING NEEDED.

you need to copy and paste them into the same image you are working with and save them all as different layers..





to avoid confusion rename the layer with what each one is. some times i turn off layers till i am ready to work with them
